Magnitude 6.6 earthquake strikes near Chile, no tsunami threat to PH, says Phivolcs
There is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that struck near the coast of Chile on Tuesday evening, Phivolcs said.
In a statement, Phivolcs said that the quake struck at a depth of 20 km and was located 28.7°S, 71.8°W near the coast.
The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) earlier measured the quake at magnitude 6.3.
