Magnitude 7.2 quake strikes Vanuatu; no tsunami threat to Philippines —Phivolcs
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 earthquake struck the island nation of Vanuatu on Sunday evening, but no tsunami threat to the Philippines has been detected, Phivolcs said.

According to the agency, the quake hit at 8:32 p.m. Philippines time at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The United States Geological Survey said the epicenter was located 40 kilometers west of the town of Port-Olry on the island of Espiritu Santo.
"Tsunami waves reaching 0.3 to 1 meters above the tide level are possible for some coasts of Vanuatu," said the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. — with a report from Reuters/BM, GMA Integrated News
