Muntinlupa City Council approves 8 p.m.-5 a.m. curfew

The Muntinlupa City Council on Saturday night approved an ordinance imposing a curfew in the city from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting March 16, 2020.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority earlier announced that the National Capital Region mayors, as part of community quarantine measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), had agreed to impose the curfew.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) later clarified that the imposition and implementation the curfew depended on Metro Manila LGU ordinances, with Muntinlupa Council being the first to pass such legislation. — DVM, GMA News
