Fire officials report deadly Arizona blaze now 45 percent contained

PRESCOTT, Arizona - Firefighters on Wednesday tightened their grip on a blaze in central Arizona that killed 19 of their comrades, extending containment to 45 percent of its perimeter as they continued to subdue the deadliest US wildfire in 80 years.

The new containment figure, up from 8 percent reported earlier in the day, came as authorities said 114 buildings had been damaged or destroyed by the flames and that they feared more bodies could be discovered during mop-up operations. —Reuters
