"The anti-dynasty bill is highly controversial and it is expected that many of them (na kongresista) would oppose it," pahayag ni Gonzales tungkol sa panukalang batas na aayuda sa probisyon sa Saligang Batas laban sa political dynasties.

Nakasaad sa House Bill (HB) No. 3587 o an Act Prohibiting the Establishment of Political Dynasties, "no spouse or person related within the second civil degree of consanguinity, or affinity to an incumbent elective official seeking reelection, shall be allowed to hold or run for any local or national elective office in the same elections."

"It is the constitutional duty of the Congress to enact a law defining and prohibiting the establishment of political dynasties. We are respectfully requesting for your support on the enactment of the said proposal by issuing a certification declaring the same to be a
priority bill," aniya.

Dagdag pa ng mambabatas, "While several bills of similar import had been filed in the past, these were never acted upon during the previous Congress through the manipulation of unscrupulous politicians."

-- RP/FRJ, GMA News
