Suspect nabbed in Subic for robbery-extortion

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) apprehended a suspect involved in a robbery-extortion case during an entrapment operation at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

According to a NBI statement on Friday, the complainant ended her relationship with the suspect upon discovering that he was married.

Following this, the suspect allegedly sent slanderous messages to the complainant’s colleagues and threatened to release intimate videos unless she paid him P300,000.

The NBI launched an entrapment operation on Thursday at a restaurant within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

During the operation, the suspect reportedly demanded the payment of the P300,000 or proposed sexual acts as an alternative.

At that point, NBI agents intervened and arrested the suspect.

The individual is currently undergoing inquest proceedings and is facing multiple charges, including Robbery with Violence or Intimidation,  violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of  2004, and violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
