Infographic: Know your rights as an airline passenger

The Departments of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Transportation and Communication (DOTC) have issued the Air Passenger Bill of Rights, which took effect last December 21, in time for the influx of airline passengers traveling for the holidays.  The Bill of Rights focuses on passengers' rights and the airline companies' obligations to them in certain circumstances, such as a delay or cancellation of flights. It also seeks to address issues like overbooking, non-refundability, and misleading advertisements regarding fares. According to DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, passengers --- especially those who are flying for the first time --- must be informed about the order to avoid getting exploited or tricked.
