Magnitude 5.0 earthquake shakes Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake hit off the coast of Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental early Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake, which occurred at 1:44 a.m. was tectonic in origin with a depth of 10 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS said there are no expected damages and aftershocks. — BAP, GMA News
