Swedish national nabbed for child rape

A Swedish national, who is wanted for child rape, has been arrested, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced Thursday.

According to the NBI, operatives of the NBI-Violence Against Women and Children Division and the Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit arrested the foreigner in Angeles City, Pampanga on April 2.

The NBI said the subject arrived in the country on March 18.

The bureau said it started investigating the individual after receiving information on the case from the Swedish Police Authority.

The NBI said the man is the subject of an investigation of 2 counts of child rape. He also has previous convictions for serious financial fraud. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
