Shabu worth P10.2M seized, suspect nabbed in Dasmariñas, Cavite

Authorities have seized P10.2 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested one drug suspect in Dasmariñas, Cavite, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Thursday.
In a statement, PDEA said the buy-bust operation that was conducted on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old man identified as alias “Sian.”
He will be facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
The PDEA also said the suspected shabu was found in plastic bags that weighed about 1.5 kilos.
A cellular phone, buy-bust money, drug paraphernalia, and a rental document were also confiscated from the suspect during the operation.
It can be recalled that the agency said shabu is the most common illegal drug that enforcers seize during operations, which was followed by marijuana.
“Based on our data po, shabu is the most prevalent drug na ginagamit po rito sa atin. At saka base rin ho sa mga datos ng ating mga confiscation, shabu rin ho iyong karamihan ho na ating nakukumpiska doon sa ating mga buy bust operations and search warrant . Pumapangalawa na ho itong marijuana,” said PDEA spokesperson Joseph Frederick Calulut, after announcing last month that nearly 30,000 out of 42,045 barangays that have been cleared of illegal drugs. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
