P2.7M worth of gadgets, cash stolen from Pangasinan store; expensive wine stolen in Iloilo City

Separate robbery incidents were reported in a gadget store in Pangasinan and in a house in Iloilo City, according to a report of GMA Regional TV’s CJ Torida in “Saksi” on Wednesday.
A security camera caught a man wearing a motorcycle helmet and another wearing a face mask inside a cellphone store in Tayug, Pangasinan at around 3 a.m. Saturday, March 29.
The helmet-wearing man tried to open the store's safety vault. But after failed attempts to unlock it, the suspects carried away the vault containing 68 units of cellphones and other gadgets worth P2.5 million.
The vault also contained P200,000 cash earnings of the store.
Police said the suspects used a bolt cutter to gain entry into the store.
“We continue to get CCTV footages within the vicinity where the crime happened. We also coordinated with the Tayug LGU so we can review everything,” said Tayug Police Station Officer-in-Charge Police Major Rodrigo Lubiano, Jr. in Filipino.
The shop owner offered a reward to anyone who can give a tip that would lead to the suspects.
Expensive wineMeanwhile, a man was also caught on camera outside the house he robbed in Iloilo City on Tuesday afternoon.
CCTV footage showed the suspect was initially wearing a blue shirt until he changed into grey long sleeved shirt.
He later set up a ladder in front of the house. However, he suddenly pretended to be working on something when a group of children walked pass the house.
According to the homeowner, no one was inside the house when the crime happened. It was only later in the evening when they realized that P100,000 worth of jewelry and an expensive bottle of wine were already stolen.
“I later found out that my cabinet was already unlocked. I immediately checked inside and discovered that my bracelet, rings, my necklace, and earrings were already missing,” said “Inday”.
The police are still looking for the suspect. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
