Chiz backs ex-VP Leni’s mayoral bid in Naga City
Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero has expressed support for ex-vice president Leni Robredo’s mayoral bid in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
In a Facebook post, Escudero divulged meeting with the former Vice President in his hometown in Sorsogon last April 1 for a “good kamustahan.”
According to the Senate President, they talked about Angat Buhat initiatives which he deemed to be “impactful” and have “benefited many Filipino across the country.”
Angat Buhay is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded by Robredo last July 1, 2022 after she lost the presidential bid to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
“As the leading candidate in the mayoralty race in Naga City, former VP Leni shared her plans and programs for our kababayan in her hometown should she win in next month’s election, a blueprint for progress that aligns with my vision for the entire Bicol region,” Escudero said in his Facebook post.
“I wished former VP Leni all the best and expressed my full support for her candidacy, as I look forward to collaborating with her once again to make Bicol better,” the former Sorsogon governor added.
