Salceda leads Eleksyon 2025 Albay gubernatorial race —SWS


Incumbent Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda is leading the Eleksyon 2025 gubernatorial race in Albay, according to a recent survey taken by the Social Weather Stations.

The survey, commissioned by Lloyd Ian Zaragoza, revealed that 38% of Albay voters preferred Salceda as their next governor.

Meanwhile, 30% of respondents remained undecided ahead of the May 2025 midterm elections. Former Albay Governor Noel Rosal garnered 29% voter preference, while Rosaler Sara Jr. trailed with 0.5%.

In the vice gubernatorial race, 44% of voters were undecided. Diday Co led the contest with 30% voter preference, followed by Jun Alegre (17%), Te Arandia (6%), and Gil Goyena (2%).

For district representatives, Kito Co was the leading candidate in Albay’s 2nd District with 36% voter preference. He was followed by Caloy Loria and undecided voters, both at 31%.

In the 3rd District, Polangui Mayor Raymond Adrian Salceda led the congressional race with 40% support. Meanwhile, 38% of voters remained undecided, while 21% backed Fernando Cabredo.

The survey was conducted from February 27 to March 5, 2025, through face-to-face interviews with 1,270 registered voters aged 18 and above in Albay. It has a sampling error margin of ±3% for the province overall, with ±4% for District 1, ±5% for District 2, and ±6% for District 3. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
