Landslides, floods hit some Mindanao areas amid rains due to easterlies

Some areas in Mindanao experienced landslides and floods due to the rains brought by the easterlies over the weekend, GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita reported on Monday. 

In Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, landslides were reported in several barangays. Rocks and soil blocked the roads making them impassable to motorists. 

In Alabel, Sarangani, a national highway in Barangay Ladol was submerged in flood. A river in the area also swelled. 

State weather bureau PAGASA said the easterlies caused the rains in Mindanao areas over the weekend. —Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
