2 dead in Cessna plane crash in Lingayen, Pangasinan

Two people died after a Cessna plane crashed in Barangay Libsong East, Lingayen, Pangasinan on Sunday morning.
In Carlos Mateo’s Super Radyo DzBB report, the Lingayen police said the casualties were the pilot and a student pilot of the aircraft.

Their names have yet to be released to the public since their families are still being informed of the fatal incident.
There were no reported casualties on the ground where the aircraft crashed.
In a report by CJ Torida of GMA Regional TV, witnesses said the crash took place at around 9 a.m. Sunday. They said the Cessna had just taken off from the Lingayen Airport before it lost altitude and crashed nose first into a marshy area.
The tail of the stricken aircraft reads, "Pilipinas Space and Aviation Academy Incorporated".
The crash site, only a few meters away from several houses, is now under guard by authorities who are trying to determine the exact cause of the accident.
In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
Operated by the Pilipinas Space Aviation Academy Inc., the Cessna plane is a training aircraft with registration number RP-C8595.
“The flying school is grounded pending the result of the ongoing investigation,” CAAP said.
