P8M worth of marijuana destroyed by PNP in Kalinga

An estimated P8 million worth of marijuana plants were reported destroyed by the Philippine National Police - Drug Enforcement Group in Kalinga on Sunday.
In a report by Carlo Mateo for Super Radyo dzBB, units of the PNP-DEG and the Kalinga police discovered the marijuana plantation on the mountainous portion of Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan last March 27.
According to Police Col. Rolando Cuya Jr, officer-in-charge of the PNP-DEG, authorities found in the 40,000 marijuana plants in an area of 4,000-square meters. He said authorities uprooted and destroyed the plants.
Police said the caretakers might have known they were coming and fled. No suspects were found in the area. —RF, GMA Integrated News
