Dog stabbed to death by vendor in Subic

A dog was stabbed to death by a vendor in Subic, Zambales after it reportedly stealing meat from her stall.

According to a report in “State of the Nation” on Wednesday, the video recorded by a witness showed that the bloodied dog named “Tiger” was still walking even when its organs were already visible.

The video owner said they decided to record the aspin’s (asong Pinoy) situation after it walked in their direction.

The meat vendor was already arrested, the report said.

Animal rights group Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) condemned the brutal killing of the dog.

“Those who commit such violent acts against animals pose a danger to society as a whole. Abusers of animals are often capable of inflicting harm on humans as well. By taking a stand against animal cruelty, we are fighting for the safety and well-being of people. Standing up against animal abuse is not just a moral obligation — it is a necessary step in creating a safer, more just society,” said PAWS in a statement.

“If you have witnessed any act of animal cruelty, PAWS urges you to come forward. Every report and case filed is a vital step in the fight against cruelty,” the group added. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
