2 suspects behind slay of Aparri vice mayor nabbed in Nueva Ecija 

The two suspects behind the murder of Aparri, Cagayan Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda and five others in 2023 were arrested in Brgy. Luna in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija on early Tuesday. 

According to Sam Nielsen’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, the suspects are members of “De Guzman” Group, an alleged private armed group. 

Through a warrant issued by the regional trial court, the suspects were charged with six counts of murder. No bail was recommended. 

To recall, Alameda and five others were killed during an ambush in Nueva Vizcaya last February 19, 2023. The gunmen were wearing police uniforms when they shot dead the victims. 

The arrested suspects are now under the custody of the Bayombong Police Station in Nueva Vizcaya. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
