PNP: P2-M reward offered for info on Bulacan ambush

A P2 million reward is being offered to those who have information that will help capture the perpetrators behind the ambush in San Rafael, Bulacan, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday.

“Meron po tayong P2 million na reward na ino-offer kung sinumang makakapagbigay ng information sa nangyari pong ito sa mga may kinalaman at siyang involved sa hindi katanggap-tanggap na nangyari sa San Rafael,” PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said at a press briefing.

(We have a P2 million reward offered to anyone who can provide information on this incident on those involved in this unacceptable incident in San Rafael.)

Fajardo said the police are looking into the possibility that the attack was election-related as one of the three fatalities worked as a consultant to some political figures in Bulacan.

On Friday, the victims were traveling in an SUV when they were chased and sprayed with gunfire by occupants of another black vehicle.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspects tailed the victims' vehicle and opened fire while driving.

The driver and the front-seat passenger were killed instantly by the gunshots. The other victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
