P217M worth of ‘shabu,' 'ecstasy’ seized in Cavite

A total of P217,642,000 worth of suspected shabu and ecstasy were confiscated and a suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Bacoor City, Cavite on Friday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
In a statement, PDEA director general Undersecretary Isagani Nerez identified the arrested suspect as 35-year-old Chinese national “Li.”
Li allegedly sold around one kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million to a poseur-buyer in a parking lot of a fast food chain on Bacoor Boulevard, according to the PDEA.
Also seized from the suspect were 31 more plastic bags with 31 kilos of shabu worth P210.8 million, four plastic sachets with 35 ecstasy tablets worth P42,000, a vehicle, and other personal belongings.
Li will be facing charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“The arrested Chinese national has been under our tight watch for quite some time now under COPLAN: ‘Mafioso.’ He is capable of distributing voluminous amounts of illegal drugs, and is now behind bars,” Nerez said.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
