PDEA: P272M worth of ‘shabu’ seized, suspect nabbed in Rizal

A total of P272 million worth of “shabu” was seized and a suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal late Wednesday evening, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday.
In a statement, the PDEA said the operation conducted in Rizal Cement Village, Barangay Pantok resulted in the confiscation of 40 black gold foil packs containing a total of 40 kilos of suspected shabu.
Authorities also captured a drug personality identified as alias “Ronald,” according to the PDEA.
Ronald will face charges for the alleged sale and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA director general Undersecretary Isagani Nerez lauded the concerned drug law enforcement units for the accomplishment.
"Operation of this magnitude dealt a major blow to the supply chain of illegal drugs in the streets. There are more to come,” Nerez said.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
