22-year-old run over, killed by dump truck in Sorsogon

A 22-year-old woman was killed in Bulan, Sorsogon over the weekend after being run over by a dump truck.

According to the initial investigation, the victim, who had a mental condition, had been playing under a parked dump truck near a construction site in Barangay San Ramon.

Unaware of her presence, the truck driver drove the vehicle away, resulting in the woman's death.

“Naglalaro, parang may kinuha at naglalaro doon sa ilalim ng dump truck. Nung umandar na po siya at di niya napansin ito. ‘Yun nga po, nagulungan ng gulong ito,” ulan police chief Police Lt. Col. Virgil Bibat explained in a report on GMA’s 24 Oras Weekend.

(The victim appeared to be playing under the dump truck, possibly retrieving something. When the driver started the truck, he didn’t notice her presence, and she was run over.)

Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but the victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
