5 nabbed in Camarines Norte for series of robberies — PNP

Police in Camarines Norte arrested five men who are allegedly part of a robbery hold-up group which recently conducted several crimes in Mindanao.
According to a 24 Oras report by Emil Sumangil, police intercepted the suspects at a gas station in Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte while they were returning to their hideout in Zambales.
Intelligence gathered on the suspects revealed they were part of a robbery hold-up group which recently held up a computer and gadget shop in Mindanao.
Police said the suspects would use bolt cutters to gain entry into establishments they robbed.
“Lipat lipat sila, lalo sa probinsya na limited ang mga CCTV… Tulad po ngayon, ang ninakawan po nila ay Claver sa Surigao del Norte,” said Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) Camarines Norte Team Leader Ferdinand Ferrer.
(They kept switching locations, especially in provinces with limited CCTV coverage… Like now, when they staged robberies in Claver, Surigao del Norte.)
“Ganun po kalawak ang network… Sila po ay nakatira sa Central Luzon… Mostly dito sa part po ng Bulacan at Zambales,” added PNP-HPG Spokesperson Police Lieutenant Nadame Malang.(That’s how wide their network is… They are based in Central Luzon… Mostly in the part of Bulacan and Zambales.)
Authorities were able to recover more than 10 laptop computers along with other evidence from the suspects.
“Sila po ay may mga dalang PNP uniforms… Based sa panayam, ginagamit nila sa pagkukubli ng identification,” said Malang.
(They had PNP uniforms… Based on interrogation, they used these to gather information.
“Sila’y naliligo… Inantay nila ang pagkakataon na magkaroon ng relaxation, o marelax itong mga supek na ito [bago sila hulihin],” he added.
(They were taking a bath… We waited for the opportunity for the suspects to relax [before arresting them].)
The five suspects declined to give comments. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
