Firemen put out wildfire in Zambales mountain
By GMA Integrated News
The wildfire that spread on a mountain in Barangay Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales was finally put out before dawn on Tuesday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said, according to a report on Unang Balita.
According to the San Antonio Fire Station, the fire started at 12 noon Monday.
The fire quickly spread due to strong winds.
Firemen had difficulty going up the mountain to put out the fire since the ground was soft.
The BFP said it was ready to respond should the fire reach the residential area at the foot of the mountain.
Residents said the wildfire started weakening before midnight. —KG, GMA Integrated News
