14 injured in Tuy, Batangas road crash

Fourteen people were injured in a road crash involving nine vehicles along the National Highway in Sitio Palico, Brgy. Luntal, Tuy, Batangas early Saturday morning.

According to a police report, the incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. when a dump truck lost its brakes while traveling downhill from Calaca City to Mendez, Cavite.

The truck collided with a bus which crashed into several other vehicles parked near a convenience store.

The injured victims were rushed to Don Manuel Lopez Memorial District Hospital in Balayan, Batangas, and Apacible Memorial District Hospital in Nasugbu, Batangas for treatment.

The accident resulted in significant damage to multiple vehicles, with several sustaining heavy damage. 

Authorities are investigating the cause of the brake failure and assessing possible settlements for damages. —Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
