NBI seizes P120M worth of fake luxury leather goods from 2 Cavite sellers

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized P120 million worth of counterfeit luxury leather goods being sold by two online live sellers in Cavite.

In John Consulta’s Wednesday report on “Saksi,” the fake products were confiscated from two houses in General Trias and Imus.

John Ignacio, NBI Intellectual Rights Division chief, said a search warrant was served after a luxury brand company filed a complaint through its representative in the Philippines.

“Lumabas may dalawang establishment sa Cavite na na identify nagbebenta ng pekeng produkto nila, dine-demo nila through social media,” Ignacio said.

The customers will then pay via an e-wallet before the products are shipped to them, he added.

The counterfeit products include bags, wallets, belts, and shoes.

The NBI said two suspects are facing trademark infringement charges. They have yet to comment on the matter.
