Floral floats parade through Baguio's streets in Panagbenga 2025

Some 40 colorful and creative floats were on vibrant display on the streets of Baguio City on Sunday morning during the Floral Float Parade, the highlight of this year's Panagbenga Festival.

As early as 5 a.m., many tourists and residents were already waiting along Session Road, with some even spending the night there, according to GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon.

Among the first few floats that were showcased in the parade were those of the Baguio City local government unit and Department of Tourism.

The parade had small, medium, and large categories.

Here are some of the entries for the small category:

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) had its own float under the medium category. Comelec Chairman George Garcia mounted the float, which bore the message, "Makabagong Halalan Para sa Pilipino 2025."

The massive floats under the large category also wooed tourists in Baguio City:

Some mime artists also entertained the tourists along the Session Road.

There were cosplayers too who also joined the parade.

Now on its 29th year, the theme of Panagbenga Festival 2025 is "Blossom Beyond Boundaries."

"This year's theme reminds us that growth has no limit. It embodies creativity, passion, and unity that define the community," said Federico Alquiros, president of the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc.

Meanwhile, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong had said that the Panagbenga Festival, for almost three decades now, "has been the platform and bridge for culture [and] it also showcases the best of what Baguio can offer, artistry that captures the heart of tourists."

On Saturday, the Grand Street Dance Parade was held as part of the festival. Thousands of tourists positioned themselves along the parade route to watch and enjoy the scenes. — Giselle Ombay/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
