New classroom for PDLs built in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro jail

A classroom for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) has been built in Bansud District Jail in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro.

In Luisito Santos' Sunday report on Super Radyo dzBB, the “Silid Kulay ng PAGASA” is a 42-square-meter classroom.

With the opening of the classroom, PDLs are encouraged to enroll in the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s alternative learning system next school year.

Of the 300 PDLs in Bansud District Jail, 29 are enrolled in junior high school, while 23 are in grade school. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
