Residents break wall to release flood waters in Tawi-Tawi

Residents were forced to hammer a huge hole in a wall to release water from a flooded compound in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

According to a 24 Oras report on Wednesday, the hole helped flood water flow out and become more manageable after rains in the area.

Rescuers also had to rescue stranded residents, while cars were submerged in raging floods.

The municipal disaster risk reduction management stated that eight barangays have been affected by the continuous rains.

Thunderstorms caused by the easterlies brought the rains in some parts of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon and the shear line will continue to bring cloudy conditions and rains over other parts of the Philippines. –Jiselle Anne Casucian/NB, GMA Integrated News
