Content creator injured in chiropractic session dies

A content creator who was injured during a chiropractic adjustment session late last year that left him unable to walk has died.
According to GMA Regional TV’s Cyril Chaves in 24 Oras Tuesday, Leobart Yurong went viral online after he documented his session with a man who claimed to be a chiropractor in Misamis Oriental in November.
Yurong was heard shouting in pain during the session when he felt something was wrong. The alleged chiropractor tried to calm him in the video.
A medical examination afterwards revealed Yurong sustained a fracture to the right side of his pelvis.
Despite his worsening physical condition, Yurong continued to chronicle and share his experiences.
Yurong’s family believe that his death could have been caused by complications resulting from the injury.
“I believe that this was caused by the fracture on his waist, because he became like a stroke patient who can’t move his hands and his eyes were drooping,” said Nancy Taping, the victim’s sister, in vernacular.
Taping said that her brother decided to have a bone alignment session last year due the back pain he was experiencing. Yurong looked for a chiropractor online who he visited at his home for the session.
Yurong’s family is now planning to file charges against the alleged chiropractor.
“It hurts because this happened to my brother. He looked healthy before, but he was already dead when I last saw him in the hospital,” said Taping.
Yurong will be laid to rest on Wednesday. His family is seeking financial assistance for his funeral.
GMA Regional TV is inviting the alleged chiropractor to give his side on the matter.
