Antipolo man stabs father for allegedly beating him

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City after he allegedly stabbed his father who he claimed beat him.

According to a 24 Oras report Wednesday by EJ Gomez, the suspect repeatedly stabbed his own father in an alleyway in Sitio Kay Adia.

The wounded victim was able to ask neighbors for help.

“Pumasok siya sa gate, dumiretso siya sa loob ng bahay namin. Then, nagulat ako, lumabas ako, inano ko yung anak niya na may hawak na kutsilyo. Tapos, pagsilip niya dun sa bahay namin, sabi niya may saksak siya, may dugo daw siya,” said witness Merlyn Dazo.

(He entered the gate and went straight inside our house. Then, I was surprised when I came out and saw his son holding a knife. Then, when he looked inside our home, he said he was stabbed and was bleeding.)

“Pagdating po namin doon sa insidente, nadatnan po namin yung suspect na tulala na at umamin po siya na siya na po yung sumaksak sa kaniyang ama,” added Barangay San Isidro Kagawad Albert Penaflor.

(When we arrived at the incident, we saw the suspect in a daze and he admitted that he stabbed his father.)

Authorities recovered the knife from the suspect.

According to barangay officials, the suspect said he stabbed his father for beating him.

His relatives said the suspect turned his anger towards his father after he was involved in another fight, and that the father and son often had disagreements.

“Ayun po sa kwento po ng suspek sa amin, pagbaba pa lang po niya ng tricycle, doon na po siya binugbog ng kaniyang ama hanggang sa makarating po sa dulo. Ayun po, nagpanambuno na po sila mag-ama. Doon na po niya nagawang saksakin ang kaniyang ama,” said barangay tanod Theo Dorico.

(Based on the suspect’s story, he just got off a tricycle when his father started hitting him until they reached the end. They fought and the suspect stabbed his father.)

“Meron ngang kaalitan dun sa lugar ng asawa niya. Siguro naging mainit ang ulo, sa tatay naibuntong ang sama ng loob kaya umabot sa ganun,” added the victim’s sibling Jaime Daligdig.

(He fought with someone from his wife’s place. He was probably upset, and turned his anger on his father which was why it reached that point.)

The victim is currently being treated in a hospital.

Both victim and suspect have yet to issue their respective comments to media.
