Taal Volcano had minor phreatic eruption —PHIVOLCS

A minor phreatic eruption was monitored at Taal Volcano early Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

According to PHIVOLCS, the eruption from Taal Volcano island's main cater occurred at 2:22 a.m.

The volcano generated a 500-meter plume that was captured by the thermal camera of the Taal Volcano Observatory in Barangay Buco in Talisay, Batangas.

Despite this, PHIVOLCS said that Alert Level 1 remains hoisted over Taal Volcano, indicating a low-level unrest.
