Riders snach student's cellphone in Taytay
Thieves riding in tandem snatched the phone of a 17-year-old student while she was walking in a subdivision in Taytay, Rizal.
According to Jamie Santos’ report on “Saksi,” the student’s cellphone was stolen on Tuesday evening while she was on her way home from school.
Maria Kanapi Llorca, the victim’s mother, said her daughter went home around 6:45 p.m. bawling and shaking from fear as she told her about the incident.
“Nagpapasalamat ako wala naman masyadong nangyaring ano sa kanya malala ok lang cellphone pero yung trauma. Natatakot siya,” Llorca said.
(I’m thankful she’s safe. It’s just that she is still traumatized.)
The victim said one of the suspects stared at her after her cellphone was taken.
“Nagulat po ako nun siyempre nakatitig po siya sa akin tumingin po ako sa kanya tapos nag panic na po ako di ko po alam gagawin ko that time,” the victim said.
(I was caught off guard because we stared at each other, and then I panicked because I did not know what to do.)
After the incident, Llorca and her daughter sought help from the homeowners association.
Regie Mella from the homeowners association said people from neighboring subdivisions passed through their area.
She reminded residents to be careful when using their cellphones while walking along the streets. —Celine Serquina/NB, GMA Integrated News
