Davao City traffic enforcer hurt by fleeing motorist

A traffic enforcer in Davao City sustained injuries after a motorist attempted to run over him while trying to escape a traffic violation.

In Jandii Esteban’s Saksi report on Monday, the driver of a car continued to move forward despite the traffic enforcer attempting to block his path.

A security guard also tried to stop the vehicle before it escaped.

According to the traffic enforcer, he was supposed to give the driver a traffic violation ticket for an alleged illegal turn.

The enforcer then chased the car on a motorcycle until they reached a shopping mall, where he tried to stop the car before being almost run over by the fleeing motorist.

The incident was reported to police while the traffic enforcer had undergone medical examination.

He said he is ready to file charges against the driver.

“May coordination na tayo with the Land Transportation Office para ma-isyuhan ng subpoena ang registered owner ng sedan. Actually, ang enforcer, may injury ang ating CTTMO enforcer, and they are planning to revoke the driver’s license po ng driver,” Davao City Police Office spokesperson Police Captain Hazel Caballero Tuazon said.
