2 minors pushed down ravine in Cagayan de Oro
Two minors were rescued after they were pushed down a ravine by a group of youths in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.
According to a 24 Oras report by James Paulo Yap on Wednesday, a video of the incident that occurred past 11 p.m. on Tuesday night showed one of the victims being pushed over the edge of a ravine along the Coastal Road.
The second minor was also pushed down but this was not caught on video.
“Itong dalawang menor de edad nagpahangin doon, ayon sa kanyang stepmother. Bigla lang daw nilapitan at inatake nitong grupo ng mga menor de edad,” said Cagayan de Oro City Police spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Evan Viñas.
(These two minors were taking a break there, according to their stepmother. They were just suddenly approached and attacked by this group of minors.)
Police said they have also identified the youths who attacked and pushed the two victims and have referred the incident to Barangay Lapasan.
The victims have yet to file a complaint.
Meanwhile, Cagayan de Oro police said that they will increase police visibility in the area and reminded parents not to let their children hang around the Coastal Road.
“Ang station 3 personnel, nagsagawa na ng follow-up [operations] para mabigyang lunas ang nangyari,” added Viñas.
