2-year-old girl suffers burns in motorcycle fire
A two-year old girl suffered second-degree burns on her face and body after her family’s motorcycle caught fire in New Bataan, Davao de Oro on Thursday afternoon.
According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Jandii Esteban in Saksi, the toddler was on the motorcycle along with her father and elder sibling while they were on their way home from vacation.
Investigation showed the motorcycle caught fire while on the road until it fell on the ground in Barangay Camanlangan.
“It was already burning when it fell on the ground. But the cap of the gas tank opened and the gas spilled on the child, which also led her to catch fire,” said Joefe Rector of MDRR New Bataan’s Operation and Warning Section in vernacular.
Witnesses immediately threw buckets of water on the burning child.
