The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Saturday inspected stores selling firecrackers in Bocaue, Bulacan, ahead of the New Year's Day celebrations.

In a Super Radyo dzBB report by Luisito Santos, BFP officer-in-charge Fire Chief Superintendent Jesus Fernandez said the inspection was made to ensure that safety protocols are being followed.

The BFP also distributed flyers that contained necessary information about illegal firecrackers.

The banned firecrackers are the following:
    Binladen
    Atomic
    Kabase
    Kwiton Bomb
    Coke in Can
    Goodbye Chismosa
    Goodbye Philippines
    Pla-pla
    Piccolo
    Tuna

As of December 28, a total of 125 fireworks-related injuries had been recorded by the Department of Health (DOH).

One individual reportedly died after lighting up a Judas belt firecracker.

Most fireworks-related injuries were from Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, Ilocos, and Central Visayas.

The Department of Health earlier warned the public about the dangers of using firecrackers that could result in injuries or even death. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
