800 houses affected by floods in Alabel, Sarangani

Some 800 houses were affected by floods that occurred in Alabel, Sarangani on Friday.

Affected residents sought shelter in evacuation centers, according to a report on Dobol B TV on Saturday morning by Moristo Jun Pandamon of Super Radyo General Santos.

Five barangays were affected by flooding, according to the Alabel Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The local government is currently assessing the estimated amount of property damage.

The LGU meanwhile continues to assist affected residents.

Heavy rains due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the Northeast Monsoon caused flash floods and landslides in Mindanao and Luzon on Friday.
