Armed men abduct Chinese national, stole P5M in Bulacan
A Chinese national was abducted during a Christmas Day attack by armed men in Meycauayan, Bulacan. They also took P5 million from the victim's house.
According to a "24 Oras" report by James Agustin on Friday, CCTV footage of the Barangay Perez Hall at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday showed the victims seeking help after the attack.
Barangay officials said that the victims were attacked by armed robbers at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday while the victims were drinking.
The suspects pointed guns at the group of five Chinese men, two Chinese women, and two Filipina women before tying them up and covering their eyes with masking tape.
“Siguro kinuha muna yung pera. Nung makuha yung pera sa vault, kasi bukas yung vault ng dumating yung mga operatives, tinalian nila yung mga biktima. ‘Yung iba dinala sa CR,” said Barangay chairman Job Doroja.
(They might have taken the money first. After taking the money from the vault, because the vault was open when the operatives got there, they tied up the victims. The others were brought to the CR.)
CCTV footage of the incident showed the two red cars allegedly used by the suspects heading towards the North Luzon Expressway.
Meanwhile, it took the victims around 45 minutes after the attack to report the incident because the gate was locked.
Authorities have yet to determine the motives behind the abduction and robbery. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
