Two arrested over online sale of illegal firecrackers 

Authorities arrested two individuals for selling illegal firecrackers online, according to Jun Veneracion’s report on 24 Oras on Thursday. 

The suspects were nabbed by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group in an entrapment operation in San Fernando, Pampanga. 

“Yung mga nahuli naman natin ay nagbebenta sila ng mga firecrackers na pinagbabawal through different social media platforms,” said PNP-ACG director Police Brigadier General Bernard Yang. 

(The persons we arrested were caught selling illegal firecrackers online in different social media platforms.) 

GMA Integrated News reached out to the suspects for comment. 

The PNP-ACG is currently monitoring 208 social media pages selling firecrackers. Meanwhile, 115 pages were already taken down. 

“Kapag mayroon tayong nakitang violation [If we see any violation], we will request for the take down,” said Yang. 

From December 6 to 26, the PNP-ACG already arrested 10 individuals in connection to online sale of firecrackers. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA Integrated News
