Magnitude 5.3 earthquake hits Talacogon, Agusan del Sur

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted the town of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur on Thursday evening at 6:26 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
State seismologists said the earthquake of tectonic origin hit 10 kilometers northeast of Talacogon with a depth of 12 km.

- Intensity III - City of Gingoog, Medina, Magsaysay at Jasaan, Misamis Oriental; Nabunturan, Mabini, Monkayo at Laak, Davao de Oro; Barobo, Surigao del Sur
- Intensity II - Maco, Davao de Oro; Cagwait, Surigao del Sur; Cagayan de Oro City; Villanueva at Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental; Kabacan at Matalan, Cotabato
- Intensity I - Caraga, Davao Oriental; Davao City; Antipas, Cotabato
PHIVOLCS said that damage and aftershocks are expected.
