Elderly woman in NLEX Christmas Eve road crash dies
An elderly woman who was among the 31 persons who were injured in a road accident along NLEX on Christmas Eve has passed away.
According to a 24 Oras report by Jonathan Andal on Wednesday, the victim sustained serious head injuries after the fully loaded mini bus she was riding fell on its side.
Rescuers brought the woman to a hospital for medical treatment.
The victim’s family said they will be pressing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide against the driver of the mini bus and the Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV) that figured in the fatal accident.
The crash that occurred along a portion of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in San Fernando, Pampanga resulted in 31 injured persons, several of them children.
Based on initial investigation, the mini bus lost control and struck the AUV that was traveling behind it on the same lane.
