PCG Rescues Two Fishermen Off Bataan Coast
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully rescued two fishermen in the waters off Bagac, Bataan, on Friday, December 20, after their motorbanca encountered engine trouble.
The PCG reported receiving a call from the district action center at approximately 8:03 a.m. regarding the motorbanca Martina Leigh. Aboard the vessel were fishermen Giovannie Austria and Angelo Pilote.
In response, the Coast Guard Station in Bataan immediately directed its sub-station in Bagac to launch a search and rescue operation.
The BRP Cabra was deployed for the mission and later confirmed the successful rescue of the stranded fishermen.
At around 9:30 p.m., the BRP Cabra informed the fishermen that they would dock the following morning due to unfavorable sea conditions. They safely arrived at the port of Lamao on Saturday, December 21, at 7:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, the Barangay Lamao Rural Health Unit examined the fishermen’s vital signs to ensure their well-being. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
