Parish priest in Cagayan de Oro passes 2024 Bar exams
A priest based in Barangay Iponan, Cagayan de Oro was feted by his parishioners for passing the September 2024 Bar Examinations.
"With hard work and dedication, the San Guillermo de Maleval Parish Community extends our biggest congratulations to our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Hawthorne G. Galas, SSJV for successfully passing the 2024 Bar Examination," the San Guillermo de Maleval parish said in a post.
"A testament of God's greater plan through hard work and dedication in each one of us. Congratulations to our new lawyer Rev. Fr. Hawthorne G. Galas," they added.
A separte post announcing Galas' achievement was made by the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro - Social Communications Apostolate.
Earlier, the Diocese of Sorsogon's Facebook page on Friday shared that Rev. Fr. Dean Simon Bayna Peña, JD is among the country’s new lawyers.
Fathers Galas and Peña are among 3,962 examinees passed the 2024 Bar examinations.
According to the Supreme Court (SC), this is 37.84% of the total Bar takers that completed all three exam days. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
