Man arrested for distribution of exploitation materials; 3 minors rescued

The National Bureau of Investigation-Central Visayas Regional Office (NBI-CEVRO) arrested one person in Cebu over the distribution of exploitation materials of minors, the bureau said Thursday.

According to the NBI, authorities arrested the individual in Lapu-Lapu City on November 27.

They also seized three cellphones containing children sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM) and sex toys.

Meanwhile, three minors were rescued during the operation.

The bureau said the arrest stemmed from the referral of the United States (US) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Office on the child exploitation activities of the subject.

The NBI conducted the operation after it confirmed that the individual is engaged in the distribution of CSAEM after it attended a Zoom meeting to witness the interaction between the Homeland undercover agent and the subject.
