3 areas in Adams, Ilocos Norte isolated due to damaged roads
Three areas in Adams, Ilocos Norte are isolated due to damaged roads caused by Typhoon Marce.
According to Darlene Cay's report on 24 Oras, Buracot, Sinidangan, and Cadisan are the three areas affected by the damaged roads.
The area also suffered landslides. Clearing operations will be difficult because of the bad weather. This also affected the residents' livelihood, especially since the crops could not be transported.
Their calamity fund is also dwindling.
"We need help sa mga government, lalo na sa provincial government, national, humihingi kami ng tulong. Lalo na siguro yung mga equipment saka yung mga funded infrastructures and yung mga kailangan ng mga tao and mga replacement ng agricultural damages," said Julius Cascayan, Adams MDRRMO.
(We need help from the government, especially the provincial government, and national, we are asking for help. Especially maybe the equipment, then the funded infrastructures and those that people need and replacements for agricultural damages.)
The entire province is still on alert for incoming storms.
Meanwhile, food and relief assistance are now being distributed to the affected residents. Aside from the family food packs from the DSWD, the provincial government of Ilocos Norte has also distributed construction materials for residents whose houses were damaged.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
