The local government of Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte has offered a total of P150,000 reward for information on the abduction of American vlogger Elliot Eastman, the police said on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) commended the local government for helping the investigation.

“In support of the ongoing operations, they have offered a reward of P50,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the location of the boat used by the kidnappers, and P100,000 for information that directly leads to the safe recovery of the victim,” PRO-9 said.

Those who have information on the case may contact the Sibuco Municipal Police Station at  09985986798 and the Crisis Incident Management Task Group (CIMTG) “Eastman” at  09178221990.

On October 17, four men abducted Eastman from his in-laws' house in the coastal town of Sibuco. The American national reportedly resisted but was shot in the leg. He was then brought to a boat that headed for the high seas.

No ransom demands or proof of life has since been received from Eastman's abductors.

Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said they are looking at two persons of interest and verifying if they are connected to any groups.

According to the PRO-9, the CIMTG Eastman continues pursuit and search operations with the help of concerned government agencies.

“The coordination and mobilization of resources across provincial boundaries demonstrate our shared commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals,” PRO-9 said.

“The PNP remains fully committed to working closely with local authorities and communities in ensuring public safety. We call on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities,” it added. —RF, GMA Integrated News
