65-year-old woman allegedly killed by son-in-law in Cavite

A 65-year-old woman was found dead at her daughter’s house in Trece Martires, Cavite last Thursday after she was allegedly killed by her son-in-law.

According to Nico Waje’s report On “Saksi” on Monday, the daughter found her mother with a plastic bag covering her head and her neck broken. Her hands were also tied.

“Upon arriving home from my work, I saw our gate locked with a defective padlock. One of our neighbors volunteered to saw off the padlock,” the daughter said in Filipino.

“I lifted our mattress and saw my mother’s dead body with her hands tied at the back and a plastic bag on her head.”

The Trece Martires Police said the suspect could be the victim’s son-in-law following an earlier misunderstanding.

The police said the daughter asked her mother to talk to her husband after one of her things went missing.

“The laptop she’s been using suddenly went missing. The wife suspects that her husband could have sold it to the pawnshop,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Orlando Carag, Trece Martires Police chief.

“My assumption is that anger filled up the suspect, that's why he killed his mother-in-law,” Carag added. “Actually, the daughter said that her husband is also the  suspect behind the missing jewelry of her mother.”
