Chinese shot, loses SUV to fellow Chinese

A Chinese was found bloodied and lying on the road after he was allegedly shot by his fellow Chinese men who disguised themselves as buyers of his luxury SUV in Cabuyao, Laguna.

According to a "24 Oras" report by John Consulta on Friday, the Chinese sustained a gunshot wound on the thigh at Barangay Diezmo.

The Cabuyao City Police said the victim is from Mandaluyong and he joined the test drive of the suspects, who pretended to buy his expensive car.

Their deal, however, led to the shooting incident and carnapping.

According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Rexpher Gaoiran, chief of the Cabuyao City Police, the victim and suspects were already in Alabang when they declared a hold-up.

After a backtrack of the CCTV, authorities spotted where the assailants exited and were able to confirm their vehicle. CCTV footage showed a car tailing the victim's SUV before he was flagged down and shot.

The police suspect that the assailants are not from the area.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) doubted the intentions of the suspects.

"We need to go deeper into the investigation. What we are looking at is, why does the person need to be shot if it was only an ordinary car sale. We have had incidents before where those who were killed, shot or abducted were suspected to be informants that led to the raid of a POGO hub.)

Authorities continue to conduct hot pursuit of the suspects while the victim, who underwent surgery, is recovering at the hospital. — Jamil Santos/BAP, GMA Integrated News
