Loren Legarda’s son and solar firm CEO Leviste eyes House seat in Batangas

Solar Philippines founder Leandro Leviste on Tuesday filed his certificate of candidacy for representative of Batangas’ first district.

In a statement Leviste—whose mother is Senator Loren Legarda—said he had received the support, through a signature campaign, of thousands of residents from the district's eight municipalities.

“Our goal is for the national government to prioritize the development of the 1st District of Batangas, to bring its economy at least at par with other nearby districts of Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas,” he said.

Aside from his solar energy firm, 31-year-old Leviste is also, through his LL Holdings Inc. and parent company Countryside Investment Holdings, the second largest shareholder in ABS-CBN Corporation after the Lopez family. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA Integrated News
